To do what ought to be done but would not have been done unless I did it, I thought to be my duty.
— Robert Morrison

Phi Delta Theta was founded on three cardinal principles:

-The cultivation of friendship amongst its members.

-The acquirement individually of a high degree of mental culture.

-The attainment personally of a high standard of morality.

Community service events at North Dakota Alpha can be seen as an embodiment of these three principles. We try to challenge each and every brother to give as much as they can back to the university and greater Grand Forks community. When a man makes the decision to venture off to college, he enters a very new and uncertain stage of his young life. With Phi Delta Theta, we can, and will, positively shape this stage and form that man into the greatest version of himself. A large part of this shaping process is the development of a moral compass within each and every member. The brothers of North Dakota Alpha will assist you in developing your own moral compass through acts of community service. At North Dakota Alpha, we wholeheartedly believe that giving back to the community is a very crucial aspect of a man’s life. With us, you can look forward to participating in several community service events throughout the year. These events will strengthen our brotherhood, enrich our own moral compasses, and change our lives for the better through these acts of kindness.
